Cygnet Retreat is just a few minutes stroll away from the heart of Cygnet. The town is well known for its good food, arts, and music.

Cygnet is a 50-min drive (55 km) south of Hobart and lies between the beautiful D’Entrecasteaux Channel on one side and the majestic Huon River on the other. The town is the centre of the fruit growing Huon Valley where apple, cherry and berry orchards line the hills and is home to well-known chefs.

Popular among foodies, artists, musicians and those looking for alternative lifestyles, Cygnet includes several craft shops, art studios and galleries and all as everything you need for an extended stay including restaurants, pubs, supermarkets, a bank, post office, newsagent, organic food outlets, bakery and chemist. There’s also a great community growers’ market in the village held on the first and third Sundays of the month.

Cygnet was also featured on the ABC’s Back Roads television series. You can watch the episode on iView, or for an extended history, visit the Cygnet Wikipedia page.
